Traditional Stairways.
For discerning clients seeking a traditional staircase, we are willing and able to manufacture and install a stairway to any predetermined design and specification. Alternatively we are happy to design, manufacture and install a completely bespoke solution for you.

All our staircases are fabricated in our own modern joinery factory, using components manufactured and finished in house. Whether your preference is for Oak or Ash, Maple or Mahogany, we can factory finish to your chosen stain colour, sheen level and particular choice of hand tinting. We can offer the complete package, efficiently installed into your home or commercial environment.
All staircases manufactured by Parkwood are also installed by Parkwood, not by a third party installer.

For many modern home and commercial situations traditional designs are not best suited and our client may demand a more contemporary solution.
We have a flair for complementary design and often work in close partnership with prestigious architectural practices in delivering the ideal solution. The whole concept is considered in fine detail - in terms of stairway design, materials used, finishes applied and fittings utilised. Furthermore, associated items such as complementary patterns of skirting boards, architraves, wood panelling, flooring and doors are considered and suggested where appropriate.

Once favoured with your commission, we carefully select the finest quality hardwood from a range of temperate and tropical species including European Oak & Steamed Beech, American Ash, Cherry and Hard Maple along with African Sapele and Utile.
Planks are carefully selected for the components to be made, sawn, crosscut and precision machined. Mortised & tenon jointed, chamfered or turned, all in our state of the art joinery works.
Cut strings, closed strings, kite treads, straight treads, handrails, base-rails, volutes, under easing, flat turns, goose necks, chamfered newels, barley twist spindles, glass balustrade, stainless steel posts, caps, drop caps - the list is endless, at Parkwood we make them all.
Parkwood manufacture straight flights, sweeping flights, kite turns, quarter landings, half landings, full landings, elegant galleries and all your matching panelling, skirting, architrave, door and door casing needs can be easily accommodated too.
We lacquer, we oil. We tint, we patina. We fume and we polish - whatever the finish we can happily oblige.
